Edirille Gedera Chilaw – The historic home of Charles Edgar Corea

Vernon Corea was a frequent visitor to Edirille Gedera in Chilaw, Sri Lanka.It was the home of his grand uncle, Charles Edgar Corea, a national hero of Sri Lanka. C.E.Corea was an independence activist and fought hard for the freedom of Sri Lanka. He was President of the Ceylon National Congress, Chair of the Chilaw Association and was an influential member of the Legislative Council of Ceylon.

Sadly half of this historic Corea home has been sold and it is now a Dulux paint shop.However the other half is still in existence with some original features added by C.E.COREA.
