The slim volume ebook has been published to mark the 10th Death Anniversary of the pioneering Sri Lankan broadcaster Vernon Corea who has done so much for broadcasting in Sri Lanka and in the United Kingdom.

A slim volume eBook has been released to mark the 10th Death Anniversary of Vernon Corea, the legendary broadcaster of Radio Ceylon/Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and the British Broadcasting Corporation. Vernon Corea passed away in New Malden in Surrey in the United Kingdom on the 23rd of September 2002.

The book highlights a distinguished career as a broadcaster, working for the ‘King of the Airwaves,’ Radio Ceylon since 1956. Vernon was a pioneer at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and at the British Broadcasting Corporation. As the title of the slim volume suggests he was known as ‘The Golden Voice of Radio Ceylon.’

The Vicar of St. Paul’s Church Milagiriya, the Reverend Sunil Fernando will lead the service on Saturday 29th September. Dignitaries and radio listeners are expected at the Memorial Service to Vernon Corea.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Vernon Corea will take place on Saturday 29th September 2012 at 5 p.m. at St.Paul’s Church Milagiriya, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The guest speaker is the leading media personality and former Director-General of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Dr. Vijaya Corea. Outstanding Sri Lankan musicians, Nimal Mendis, Rukshan Perera and Mariazelle Goonetilleke will sing at the service led by the Vicar of St.Paul’s Milagiriya, The Reverend Sunil Fernando.
