The Sri Lankan music star Rukshan Karunanayake and his group Chimes of the 70s have released a moving song, ‘Mamath Eka Malak’ on Autism Sunday 2014. Rukshan was awarded the GLOBAL AUTISM AWARD for this song which focuses on the beauty and the brokenness of autism. But like a flower all people with autism need to be appreciated. They all have value and worth and are a blessing.
There are 67 million people with autism around the world who need more help and support. Rukshan Karunanayake and the Chimes of the 70s unveiled ‘Mamath Eka Malak’ on national television in Sri Lanka on the ‘Rise and Shine’ Saturday television programme on Channel Eye Television on 8th February 2014.
Rukshan Karunanayake dedicated the first ever Sinhala autism song in 2014 in Sri Lanka and The Commonwealth to the legendary Radio Ceylon/Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation broadcaster Vernon Corea’s grandson Charin Corea.
