Sir Winston Churchill, the ‘greatest Briton’ died 50 years ago. Vernon Corea held him in high esteem. He had books on Winston Churchill in his library at 5 Maha Nuge Gardens and bought his children a comic book detailing the life of Winston – it was an Eagle comic book sold in Colombo.

The only Corea to meet Sir Winston Churchill was Vernon’s uncle, Sir Claude Corea.
