Vernon Corea’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday 29th September 2012 at 5 p.m. in one of the oldest churches in Sri Lanka – St.Paul’s Church Milagiriya. Here is a rare photograph of Vernon Corea at St. Paul’s Church Milagiriya Vicarage taken in 1956. Vernon drives a scooter and seated behind him is his niece Ranjini Buddhakoralle, daughter of Stephen and Daisy Buddhakoralle from Haputale. At the time Vernon had joined Radio Ceylon as a Relief Announcer. His father, Reverend Canon Ivan Corea was Vicar of St.Paul’s Milagiriya at the time.
